Comments by the artist: “My work is derived from the
human figure, landscape and increasingly mythology.
Ovid’s Metamorphosis and the use of these myths
throughout art history. For a long time I have been
fascinated by and inspired by Cycladic figurines and
archaic Greek and Egyptian sculpture. Since arriving in
Cyprus, the chalcolithic figurines discovered in Lempa
and Kissonerga have become a strong influence upon both
my carving and drawing. I am working with the same
limestones and similar green and grey metamorphic stone
that were used by the ancient Neolithic and Chalcolithic
peoples of Cyprus. My aim is to try and capture the
essence of a moment that is quiet and still, to capture
time perhaps. It is often internationally sensual; I
like people to touch as well as look at and think about
my carving.
I have exhibited in numerous locations in England
