Alexandros Korogiannakis was born in 1906 in Megara. He
studied painting at the University of Fine Arts ASKT
from 1920 up to 1929. When he graduated he
systematically engaged in engraving (woodcut, copper
engraving, lithography). From 1928 until 1939 he worked
as a cartoonist and 1939 he was hired by the Bank of
Greece and specialised in chalcographic mapping of
portraits and representations for banknotes in the
National Bank of Austria. Along with engraving he
cultivated painting. He died in Varkiza in 1966
