Born in Kalamata (Peloponnese), Thanassis
Makris studied at the School of Fine Arts, Athens
(1975-1980) with Yannis Moralis and consequently
continued his studies in Paris (1980-1982) at the École
des Beaux Arts. He had his first individual exhibition
in Athens (1982).
Individual exhibitions in galleries: Ora
(Time), Titanium, Ekfrasi (Expression) (Glyfada), Chrysa
(Katerini), Miranda (Hydra), Glass-Crystal (Chania),
Ekfrasi (Expression) Gianna Grammatopoulou (Athens),
Athens Art Gallery, Epsilon (Thessaloniki), Chrysothemis
and Moschandreou Gallery (Missolonghi).
Other solo and group shows followed both
in Greece and abroad. His work belongs to the abstract
objectivity with impressionist extensions.
He lives and works in Athens.
